I'm annoyed at an off-hand remark in a front page article. Like, really annoyed—perhaps unreasonably so. Unfortunately, the article itself is a few days old, so the chances of my being able to debate away my frustration are... Remote. (Rally Pug video further down.)
Anyway, just wanted to vent, have some French excellence. (The good stuff starts at 00:27. Don't give up when they start with the pictures: it's back to rally goodness - and a lot of sliding - within about five seconds. Oh, and they stop with the music in favour of some good engine squealing at about 03:00, but there's a lot of good footage before then.)

Cheers. I have a weakness for any video of my own little Pug doing race car things!

That's yours? Kickass :)
Is it a 16v or an 8v? What sort of work has gone into it, and which class do you rally in?
This is my mate's GTi.
He's had two before it, but this is the first properly modified one he's had. It's got a pretty reasonable cam in it and some head work. He's got a dyno printout that says 123bhp at the wheels, which is not bad at all for a lightly breathed on engine.
He's got plans for a high-compression engine running ITBs. Should be absolutely bonkers :)

Sadly, no. I only meant 'my' in the sense that it's the same model. I do have ambitions to set my car up for amateur rally cross and take it down to Lydden Hill - I live about twenty minutes away - but I'm not there yet. For now, it's nothing more than a - very fun - road car.
Yeah, I think I've seen you posting about your mate's GTi before, talking to duurtlang about his 406 coupe. It's a lovely looking little thing. (I've developed a keen eye for Peugeot-related posts on this site. I always get a little excited when I see someone talking about them—particularly if it's a 106.)

Any 106 is a fun car :) Lydden Hill rallycross sounds excellent. I've got a friend who does marshalling and she says the rallycross is great fun, even just to watch.
They are great looking things. Peugeot was really on the ball for styling in that era.

Aah, the 106, not my favorite rally car, but a really god one. A friend of mine daily drives a 106 rally, and a fex others have 106 S16 (called GTI in the UK) and Saxo VTS.
Me, I have a Xsara VTS (but it's a diesel..)
